Kuzma Ltd
30 years of analog design
Founded in 1982 by Franc Kuzma, Kuzma Ltd. focuses on crafting high-quality analog playback systems with a no-compromise approach to design and materials. Their turntables and tonearms aim to minimize vibrations and resonance for optimal sound reproduction. Challenges include addressing vibrations from bearings, motors, and external sources, which can affect playback quality. Kuzma’s solutions involve using rigid, non-resonant materials and advanced damping techniques to ensure precision and minimize noise. Their products are continually refined based on theoretical and practical insights to achieve exceptional performance in analog playback.
Kuzma Safir 9 Tonearm
The Kuzma SAFIR 9 tonearm represents the pinnacle of extracting musical detail from vinyl records. It features a rigid sapphire conical tube and unique 4-point sapphire cup bearings for minimal friction and precise cartridge movement. The tonearm is housed in a solid aluminum and brass block for added stability and vibration dissipation. It offers adjustable azimuth and VTA with zero play, using an Allen key. The tonearm mounts via the Kuzma arm base, and its internal wiring consists of superior alloy silver wires, with a 1.5 m cable and silver RCA connectors. The SAFIR 9 maximizes cartridge performance and uncovers previously hidden musical details.
The Kuzma 4POINT tonearm introduces innovative features with its unique 4-point bearing system, which ensures minimal friction and zero-play for both vertical and horizontal movements. The tonearm has an effective length of 280mm (11 inches) and includes precise VTA adjustment with 0.01mm accuracy, also available in 9" and 14" versions. Its rigid VTA tower allows fine adjustments without loss of rigidity. The 4POINT features separate damping for vertical and horizontal resonances, and a detachable headshell with a hexagonal locking system. Balancing is achieved with two counterweights for precise tracking force, and high-quality internal wiring ensures excellent signal transfer.
