high end tonearms executed
Durand Tonearms, founded in 2009 by French composer Joël-François Durand, is renowned for its high-end tonearms. The company made a significant impact with the debut of the Talea™ at the 2010 Axpona show, quickly earning acclaim for its exceptional quality. This success was followed by the enhanced Talea™ II, offering further refinements. In 2011, the Telos™ was introduced, setting a new standard with its reference-level performance achieved through cutting-edge materials and design. The Kairos™, launched in 2014, embodies years of unipivot expertise in a refined and elegant design. Their latest innovation, the Tosca™, unveiled in 2019, is celebrated as a top-tier gimbal-bearing tonearm, now also available in an upgraded Tosca™ LE version.
Introduced at T.H.E. Show 2023, the Tosca™ LE (Limited Edition) is the flagship model with an entirely new bearing assembly and upgraded counterweights featuring sapphire rings. It uses carefully selected materials for optimal tonal and mechanical qualities, including damped carbon fiber and nickel-plated magnesium. The tonearm allows precise adjustments for VTA, azimuth, and anti-skating without complex modifications. A built-in DIN connector minimizes vibrations and supports various high-quality phono cables developed specifically for the Tosca™.
